Faux Patina Technique

Well you could say we have had a drop of rain and I don't think it is just Wales, But we need it, so what better to do than stay inside and get inky.
I have finished my entry for the CCC2 Challenge, I meant to start it earlier but the week has just flown by.

The technique is on page 58 of Tim's book, and there will be a different one each week.
So keep having a look there may be one you fancy doing.

I wanted to make something that I could use and I found a wooden pot which was completely blank. I have had it for a few years, never knowing what to do with it.

I painted it with Pearl dabber first so that the alcohol ink doesn't just soak in.The Faux Patina scroll is on metal foil, put through the Big shot machine using the Scrollworks on the edge die.
Foliage is from idea-olgy, the Mother of pearl heart is an old watch face.

Sorry I can not tell you too much about the technique, but it is good fun..

Thank you for looking in and I hope to show you something else I have been working on soon.

Hope you have a great weekend and get lot's of crafting done..

  1. What a great idea, Sharon! This pen holder turned out beautifully, and the faux patina is absolutely perfect! I love "usable" art, and this is fabulous!
