Christmas Hearts

Hi Everyone, it's Annie here............and I would like to share some Christmas projects with you using Metal Hearts,  Prima Colour Bloom Sprays, Texture Paste and Gilding Wax :-) There are also a few other components on the finished projects. To purchase any of the items I have used from Artist Trading Post you can use the link highlighted within the post.
I will start with the metal hearts first ....so grab a culpa  as there's lots of details and let's go x

First of all I applied Gesso to all the metal hearts, both back and front, giving some tooth for  texture paste and paints.

Of course you could use any stencil but I chose Tim Holtz Stencil's - Holiday Knits and Doily

The paints used were the Decoart Chalk Paints ( colours- Vintage & Whisper) The Texture Paste is  one of Finnabair's by Prima.

I have never used the Colour Bloom Sprays from Prima, but I love the fact that you get amazing coverage and you can splatter as well as spray. When the spray has 1/3rd left you can fill it with water and continue to use it, so it's good value. ( I am advised you can fill  up twice with water) The spray gun itself is quite unique and if you are splattering you only squeeze the trigger slightly, not all the way. There is a video on how to use the spray on the ATP Online Shop.

Gilding Wax was used to highlight the textured areas and looks so festive, especially with the shimmer of the Colour Bloom Spray, which is Vintage Gold.

I have tried to capture the wonderful shimmer of the splatters in this photograph.

Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Christmas Stamp Sets were used here. The stamp was inked up with Stazon in Red and applied to tissue paper,  which was then torn around the edges. Glue 'n'Seal was then applied to the heart and the stamped image placed on top, more Glue'n' Seal was then gently applied over the tissue, particularly around the edges.

Gilding wax was applied around the edges of the heart and gave a lovely vintage feel. Some tartan ribbon and some of Tim's Idea-Ology Tidings Tokens complete the look.

I have taken photographs of the front and back of the hangings, which will become gifts.

 Another heart.

I loved this snowflake so much and decided to leave it plain.

The sentiment on the back is Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits- Holiday Script.  I have used card and they did come away really easily poking all of the holes at the back of the die.

Having die cut Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits- Holiday Greens, I sprayed them with the Colour Bloom Spray ( see below) There's also a couple of Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers Snowflakes in there too.

More Colour Bloom Spray, splattered on to card, which I had painted with Decoart Vintage Chalk Paint.

Another greeting from Tim Holtz Holiday Script as well as his amazing  Prancing Reindeer, which is a Bigz die.....love this one :-)

All edges distressed and matted on to Kraft card, which was inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
Thank You for sticking with me and I hope you have found some inspiration. I certainly had a fun time.  My craft scrubby came in really handy too.
Have fun and remember there's still time to enter in to our current challenge "Recycle For Christmas"
